60 Years Old Man Rescued From Kidnappers In Ekiti

A 60 years old man popularly known as Alhaji Kayo who is resident at Ara Ekiti in Ijero Local Government Area of Ekiti State has been rescued from kidnappers by the officers of the Ekiti State Amotekun Corps.

The Head of Communications Department of the Ekiti State Amotekun Corps, Officer Adeleye Abiodun Adewale in a press release signed by him and made available to Treasure Newspaper on Tuesday, said, “on Sunday, 17th of November, 2024, the Ekiti State Amotekun Corps rescued a 60 years old man, popularly known as Alhaji Kayo was abducted from his residence at Ara Ekiti in the Ijero Local Government Area of the State by a gang of kidnappers. 

Narrating the matter, Adeleye said, “the Amotekun Operatives from lrepodun / lfelodun Command said, in the process of carrying out their dastardly act, a woman who was shot by the kidnappers, but was later rushed to the hospital in lgede-Ekiti for medical treatment.

Explaining further, Adeleye said, “that, luck ran against one of the suspects, a 30 years old Alfa Ahmed, a native of llawe-Ekiti, as he was apprehended by the Amotekun Operatives of lrepodun/lfelodun Command while he was fleeing with his colleagues on a motorcycle at Awo-Ekiti during a night patrol”.

The Head of Communications of the Amotekun Corps said, the suspect has since been handed over to the Police in lgede Ekiti for further investigation.
