The intra – party crises causing ripples in the All Progressives Congress, APC, and between the supporters of the current Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji and that of Engineer Kayode Olubunmi Ojo in Ekiti State seems to be deepening with the current alleged attack suffered by a group loyal to Kayode Ojo who were holding a meeting at Moba in Ekiti State on Saturday.
Reports from some eye witnesses (names withheld) in Moba revealed that some supporters of the All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship aspirant for the 2026 governorship race in Ekiti State, in person of Engineer Kayode Olubunmi Ojo were attacked and injured, and arrested on the orders of those said to be loyal to the incumbent Governor, Mr Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji while holding a peaceful meeting at Otun Ekiti, in Moba local government area of the State on Saturday.
Speaking with newsmen in a telephone interview, one of the Organisers of the meeting, Mr. Ogunkayo Moses from Osan Ekiti, said they were attacked by some supporters of the Governor who came and disrupted the peaceful meeting aimed at deliberating on the ambition of Engineer Kayode Olubunmi Ojo.
In his own words, “we were holding our peaceful meeting with representatives from all the wards in Moba Local Government Area when some hoodlums came in their large number and started throwing stones and other dangerous materials towards the venue of the meeting.

“We decided to round up the meeting abruptly and before we knew it, they have gained entry into the venue and beaten up, injured and arrested some of those attending the meeting. I just managed to escape through a good samaritan who refused to disclosed my whereabouts when they went to ask him that they saw someone running into his Office located around the venue of the meeting.
“Governor Oyebanji supporters have continued to attack, arrest, intimidate and persecute supporters of the major opponent, in person of Engineer Kayode Olubunmi Ojo because of fear of unknown ahead of APC governorship election in the State later in the year.
When the Police Public Relations Officer of the Ekiti State Police Command, in person of SP Abutu Sunday was contacted over the phone for reactions over the unfortunate incidence, he simply responded thus: “I will get back please”.
Efforts to get his reactions and clarifications on the matter through the messages sent to him on Whatsapp, asking the Ekiti State Police PRO, SP Abutu Sunday to confirm if truly anyone has been arrested over the matter yielded no response as at the time of filing this report.
