A former Chairman and leader of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, in the old Ondo State, Alhaji Deji Aiyelabowo has reminded and told the Governor of Ekiti State, Mr Biodun Abayomi to think of life after office.
Alhaji Deji Aiyelabowo in a statement made public in Ado Ekiti on Friday, advised Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji not to turn himself to Hitler at a time like this in Ekiti State.
But rather, the Governor was advised to take his time to think of life after office.
Declaring that enough is enough, Alhaji Aiyelabowo said, “the sky is large enough for birds to fly without their wings touching one another! A word should be enough for the wise!”.

According to the words of Alhaji Aiyelabowo, he told Governor Biodun Oyebanji not to tell Ekiti people and Nigerians at large that he is not aware of the ongoing attacks, maimings, harrassment and arrests of loyalists of Engineer Kayode Ojo who are members of the same political Party (APC) with him in Ekiti State just because, he wants to secure his second term ambition as Ekiti State Governor at all costs.
Speaking further, he reminded that, Engineer Kayode Ojo, having obtained his own nomination and expression of interest forms of the All Progressives Congress (APC) they both belong, has conferred on him a certified aspirant into the Office of the Governor of Ekiti State in the next Governorship election slated for June, 2026.
He assured Governor Oyebanji that no amount of gang up, threat or intimidation can stopped Engineer Kayode Ojo from pursuing his Governorship ambition which falls under the purview of his fundamental right as stated in the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

However, he urged Governor Oyebanji to please take time to ask himself “if his ambition, is worth how the people are being slaughtered in the State, or who he wants to rule over, even if he secures the second term ticket?”
Aiyelabowo queries further thus: “Are you not aware that nothing lasts forever, that life itself is temporary and that, what has a beginning must surely have an end?”
“He also urged Governor Oyebanji to take time to note that doing unorthodox and every unimaginable things from today till tomorrow comes, because he has the power of life and death over the people and forcing himself on them, that nothing will change the minds of Ekiti people who are already frustrated, disillusioned, tired with his style of governance which has kept the progress of the State stagnant since he took over as Ekiti State Governor in October 2022 without any tangible benefits recorded for the people to feel and see”.

Continuing, Aiyelabowo said, “Mr. Governor, you need to be told in a very clear term that Ekiti people are already tired of the old order of, a situation where a few privileged individuals and a spent political class have been forcing themselves on the State to chose the route that the State must take politically, are now determined to take back their State.
He equally advised the Governor to withdraw the belligerent and very inciting marching order issued to his foot soldiers in his recent address to them in Ado-Ekiti and let peace reign in the State.
“A King that reigns and inflicts pain on his subjects will have his name written in history book while the one that reigns with peace and prosperity recorded under his name will forever be remembered, with his name in the minds of the people”.
