ADC Governorship Candidate, Bejide Returns To Ekiti As Fayose, Adegbite, Eleka Join Forces

The Governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Ambassador Dare Bejide has returned to Ekiti State on Wednesday, just as his other co-aspirants like Mr Emmanuel Fayose and Barrister Adegbite during the primary election of the party were physically present to unite and join forces with him.

Reports from certain feelers within the Ekiti ADC also revealed to Treasure Newspaper that, Professor Olusola Eleka is now fully ready to also unite with Ambassador Dare Bejide even though he was not physically present at the party secretariat while Bejide was on his first visit after the party’s primary election. 

Addressing the ADC supporters in Ekiti State at the party office on Wednesday, 

Ambassador Dare Bejide assured the party of victory in the 2026 governorship election in the State. 

He also affirmed his political vision ahead of the 2026 governorship, expressing optimism that the ADC is a party to beat.

He urged his supporters to be united and be positive, adding that they should not be distracted by the sponsored attack experienced during the last ugly incident that took place at the party’s secretariat sometime ago.

To him, the gathering was not campaign but an opportunity to appreciate God for the journey so far, pointing out that it is a positive beginning towards 2026. 

He said the 2026 governorship ticket is in God’s hands.” No power comes except from God”.

He also task the party leadership hierarchy to tackle Nigeria’s challenges, including insecurity and unemployment.

Closing his address, Bejide linked national problems to leadership failures, stressing that skills development and improved agricultural opportunities could reduce insecurity and unemployment in the Country.

He assured supporters that the ADC is ready to work hard for the people of Ekiti, adding, “We have a lot to do, and we are determined to achieve it.”

The event attracted top party leaders, including ADC State Chairman, Pastor Ilesanmi Omolayo and the former Commissioner for Information in Ekiti State, Barrister Akin Omole.

Two of Bejide co-aspirants during the primary election, Barrister Femi Adegbite and Otunba Emmanuel Fayose who spoke at the event, also assured the ADC party faithfuls in Ekiti State of their readiness to work with the candidate of the party, Ambassador Dare Bejide ahead of the 2026 governorship election in Ekiti State. 

Admonishing the ADC members, the State Party Chairman, Pastor Omolayo Ilesanmi hailed the members of the party for their courage for coming out in their large numbers despite the recent attack visited on the party secretariat, emphasizing on unity within the party.

Also, addressing the gathering, Barrister Akin Omole, acknowledged the challenges posed by the previous unrest and noted that the incoming governor had travelled to Abuja to address election-related matters. 

He commended members for staying committed and encouraged them to maintain their involvement in party activities.

In his own remarks, the State Vice Chairman of the ADC in Ekiti State, Honourable Dare Adekolu urged party members to remain loyal, cooperate and show their total commitment to the party’s cause. 

He alleged that the earlier attack was politically motivated and confirmed that the matter had been reported to authorities in Abuja.
