Residents of Bamgboye Community Cry Out to Oyebanji, Bamidele, Fatoba Over Poor Infrastructure

Residents of Bamgboye Community, located along Ikere Road in Ajilosun area of Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, have appealed to Governor Biodun Oyebanji, Senate Leader, Senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele, Hon. Sola Fatoba, and Ado Central LCDA Chairman, Engr. Toyin Ojo for urgent intervention over the community’s lack of basic amenities.  

The residents lamented the hardship caused by poor drainage systems and dilapidated roads, which worsen during the rainy season. They said the absence of functional drainage has led to persistent flooding, while connecting roads remain in deplorable condition.  

Speaking with journalists in Ado-Ekiti, the community Chairman, Mr. Joseph Abosede Ajayi, said heavy rains often leave the roads impassable for vehicles. 

He added that many businesses have folded up and families have been displaced due to the situation, compounded by epileptic power supply.  

While commending Governor Oyebanji for his developmental projects across Ekiti State, Ajayi appealed for urgent attention to Bamgboye, describing it as one of the fastest-growing areas in Ado-Ekiti that needs infrastructure to match its growth.  

Other residents, including Mrs. Ishola Funmilayo, Pastor Fajobi Adesina, and former Community Chairman, Deaconess Phebian Aduke Fatunase, suggested that constructing the road with solar-powered streetlights would create an alternative route to neighboring communities.  

They also decried erratic electricity supply and called on Governor Oyebanji, Senator Bamidele, and Hon. Steve Olusola Fatoba to provide a transformer to revive businesses and improve living conditions.  

“Governor Oyebanji is doing well, and our representatives at the National Assembly have been very supportive. We believe in them and will continue to support them with our votes,” they stated.
