INEC Ekiti to Hold Mock Election Exercise June 12 Ahead Governorship Poll

… Announces Extension For PVC’s To June 14th

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Ekiti State Office will conduct a mock accreditation and voting exercise on Friday, 12th June 2026 between the hours of 8:30 am to 2:30 pm. 

According to the details signed and released by the Resident Electoral Commissioner for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Ekiti State, Dr Bunmi Omoseyindemi, he said, the mock election will serve as opportunity to test the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System, BVAS, and other election-day procedures ahead of the Ekiti State Governorship Election schedule on Saturday, 20th June 2026.

Dr Omoseyindemi revealed further that, the selected polling units where the INEC mock election will take place includes six local government areas like Ikole, Moba, Ise/Orun, Ikere, Ado, and Ijero. 

In the same vein, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)’s Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr Bunmi Omoseyindemi also called on the electorates to take advantage of the final extension of the collection of the Permanent Voters Card in the State.

The INEC REC used the opportunity to announce the new deadline which is Sunday, 14th June 2026. 

It would be recalled that the previous deadline for the collection of the Permanent Voters Card (PVC) ought to have been terminated on Friday, 12th of June, 2026. 

Ekiti State Voters are however urged to ensure prompt collection of their PVC’s at the designated INEC Local Government Area Offices during official hours and collection must be done in person — no collection by proxy.

INEC reminded voters that the PVC is the only valid means of identification for voting on Election Day and urged all who haven’t collected theirs to do so now.

The Electoral Umpire restated its commitment to a credible, transparent, free, fair, and inclusive election.
