Edo CAN Condemns Assassination Attempt On Apostle Johnson Suleiman …………… Tasks Police Authorities To Unravel Those Behind The Deadly Attack

The Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Edo State Chapter has condemned the recent assassination attempt carried out on the General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries, Apostle Johnson Suleiman in Auchi, Edo State, by those believed to be unreasonable and wicked unknown gunmen.

Addressing the press on Monday on the issue, the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, in Edo State, Bishop (Dr.) Oriname Oyonnude Kure stated that the leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria in Edo State received the news of the assassination attempt on Apostle Johnson Suleiman, the General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries as a great shock.

Bishop Kure in his press address declared that, without any reservation and with a full sense of responsibility, stated the position of CAN as one that vehemently condemned the action of an attempted assassination on Apostle Johnson Suleiman as a Man of God on Friday, the 21st of October, 2022 by some unknown gunmen along Wareke Road, Auchi in Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State.

Kure added that the action of the unknown gunmen, which is still regrettable to him and the leaders of the CAN in Edo State led to the death of seven persons which included three (3) police officers attached to the clergyman in the line of duty.

He however expressed the sadness by the Body of Christ in Edo State regarding the devilish attack. “We are indeed very sad over the assassination attempt on Suleiman. We also condemned in the strongest term the vicious attack on the man of God, wherein seven (7) human beings lost their lives, and we therefore declared that we are in the state of mourning”.

“We sincerely in sobriety empathized with the families of the deceased persons and pray God Almighty to comfort them and grant them the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss; and may their soul rest in peace”.

“We are in like manner saddened by the spate of the trending insecurity in our nation, we herein urged both the state and federal government to brace up on intensifying more stringent proactive measures in cubing the excesses of this  men of the underworld, by ensuring that the police are swiftly responsive to emergency calls or situations such as this, with full alertness, and are conversant with likely escape routes in every city terrain”.  

Bishop Kure went on to call on the security operatives in the state and the Nigeria Police Force under the leadership of the Inspector General of Police, IGP to wade into this matter by bringing to book all the assailants, perpetrators and their sponsors and all those in connection with this heinous and ungodly act without exception.

Admonishing the target of the assassination attempt, in person of  Apostle Johnson Suleman, the Edo CAN leadership charged him to Know that,  “any attack against him is an attack against the Church, and that, the Church is against the heinous and ungodly act by this assailants”. 

The Edo CAN leadership further assured him that they have continue praying vigorously that these evil men are found and are made to face the full wrath of the law. 

The CAN prayed for him thus: that Lord God of Heaven be with him and his entire family, and that God Almighty shield him from all evil, in the pursuit of happiness and the Divine Assignment and Mission of proclaiming the Gospel of Christ and the Good news of His Saving Grace to all mankind all over the Nations and Continents of the World.

Also, Edo CAN specifically prayed for him that, “no man born of a woman in the entire known universe will uproot him; and that, by the unfailing mercy and Grace of the Most High God, he shall be indestructible in the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ”.

The Edo CAN however ended that, the peace of God that passeth all understanding be mighty upon Edo State and the entire Federal Republic of Nigeria.
