Ekiti NUJ Sets To Hold 2022 Press Week

Announcing the activities for the 2022 Press Week of the Nigeria Union Of Journalists, NUJ, Ekiti State Council on Thursday through a press release signed and sent to the Treasure Newspaper, the Planning Committee Chairman, Alhaji Yaquob Popoola and the Secretary, Mr Kelechi David, revealed, that, “the 2022 Press Week of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Ekiti State Council will commenced on Tuesday 6th December, 2022 with a Roundtable Discussion at the NUJ Press Centre, Oke Bareke in Ado Ekiti by 10am in the morning”. 

Speaking further, the 2022 Press Week Planning Committee said “that there would be a Medical Checkup for all the Journalists in Ekiti State at the same venue on Wednesday December 7th, 2022 by 9am in the morning”.

On Thursday, the 8th of December, 2022, the Rector, Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti, Dr Dayo Oladebeye would deliver a Lecture on the theme “2023: Beyond Religion And Ethnicity: The Place Of The Media” by 11am in the morning at the Sanni Abacha Hall, Old Governor’s Office, Ado Ekiti while some outstanding Nigerians including the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, PDP House of Representatives Candidate, Ekiti South Constituency Two, Mr Henrich Akomolafe, General Manager, BSES, Ado Ekiti, Mr Olu Popoola, Chairman Veteran Journalists in Ekiti State, Mr Kayode Oni would be presented with Awards”.

The statement added that on Friday 9th, December, 2022, there will be a Jumat Service at the Ansar-ur-deen, Odo Otun Ado Ekiti, by 1pm in the afternoon.

Also, on Saturday, 10th of December, 2022; there would be a Dinner and Investiture of the Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji as the Grand Patron of the Union.

The Chairman, Ekiti State Council of the Traditional Rulers and the Onisan of Isan-Ekiti, Oba Ayodele Adejuwon would be the Royal Father of the day while the Governor’s wife, Dr Yemi Biodun-Oyebanji would also be the Mother of the Day.

Finally on Sunday, December 11th, 2022; “there would be Thanksgiving Service at House of Faith Church, Ado Ekiti by 10am in the morning.
