Aiyedatiwa’s Aide, Olamide Falana Bags NCWS Award

An aide to Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State, Mrs Olamide Falana, the Special Adviser on Gender Matters has bagged an award from the National Council of Women Societies, NCWS, for her contributions to the development of the girl – child and women emancipation in the State and beyond.

Falana was presented with the award of excellence at the Biennial Conference of the association, with the theme “Invest in Women; Accelerate Progress” which was held in Abuja yesterday. 

The National President of the Council, Hajiya Lami Adamu Lau congratulated all award recipients for making impact in their respective domains. 

The Ondo State born popular gender advocate earn the honour for creating a new orientation in terms of prioritizing gender matters individually, even before her latest appointment. 

Speaking on the honour, the Special Adviser, Chief (Mrs.) Falana attributed the various achievements recorded in her office to the commitment of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa to women development in the state.

Falana stated further that the recognition by the NCWS would spur her to do more and create more platforms towards ensuring that gender-based violence and women emancipation are given utmost priority.

The Special Adviser called for more cooperation from women groups both at home and in the diaspora towards achieving set objectives.

She emphasised that the Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa has put in place all the required structures and processes that would ensure an enabling environment for women development as well as even distribution of resources across the 18 local government areas of the state.

The event had in attendance a large number of Ondo State delegates, representatives of Fiwasaye Old Girl’s Association and leadership of the National Council of Women Societies also featured awards of Goodwill Ambassadors on Senate Leader, Senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele (MOB), Special Adviser on Education, Dr Olawunmi Ilawole, Olori Folasade Momoh while Bishop (Mrs) Odusola Oluseyi was awarded life member of NCWS.
