A Time For Truth: Ekiti’s Deafening Silence At The Solidarity Walk For President Bola Ahmed Tinubu

Once again, I sincerely appreciate everyone on this platform who has taken the time to engage..directly or indirectly,with the conversations surrounding the just-concluded Solidarity Walk in Abuja, organized by the APC Youth League to mark President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s second year in office.

While the event was a resounding success nationally, it also revealed some unsettling truths that can no longer be ignored. Ekiti State stood out,not for leadership or loyalty ,but for its complete absence. It was the only state in the entire federation without proper representation at this landmark event. That silence was loud, and it was telling.

It has become painfully clear that some appointees of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji (BAO) are not genuinely aligned with President Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda and by extension, may not be supportive of his second term bid. Their absence, and their weak attempts to justify it, speak volumes about where their true loyalties lie.

This is not just about a walk. It’s about commitment, loyalty, and unity of purpose within the APC. If political appointees in Ekiti..who owe their positions to the party’s structure,cannot stand in open solidarity with the leader of that same party, then we must begin to question their relevance and intentions.

However, to the courageous Ekiti youths who, despite all odds, took it upon themselves to represent the state, your effort has not gone unnoticed. History will be kind to you. And to the few principled leaders who supported and stood by the Ekiti Youth League delegates, may history also be kind to you. You have demonstrated what true leadership and party loyalty look like.

We thank God that the truth has come to light. We also thank the youths and loyal party members across other states who showed up and stood tall. History will remember those who were present,and it will also remember those who were not.

The days of hiding behind silence are over.
