Ado Ekiti Students Union Endorse Oyebanji, Bamidele, Fatoba For Re-Election

The Federation of Ado Ekiti Students’ Union, FASU, has endorsed the incumbent Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji of Ekiti State; the legislator representing the Ekiti Central Senatorial District, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele as well as that of the Ado Ekiti and Irepodun/Ifelodun Federal Constituency 1, Honourable Olusola Fatoba for re-election into their offices for another term.
Citing reasons for their action, the apex students and youth body in Ado Ekiti, revealed that the endorsements were premised on the track records of the three leaders’ impactful representation, visible achievements, and commitment to the development of Ado Ekiti.
Addressing newsmen in Ado Ekiti, the National President of the Federation of Ado Ekiti students Union, Aare Temitope Adeyemi noted that sustaining the achievements is crucial for Governor Oyebanji, Senator Bamidele and Mr Fatoba to be re-elected for another term in office, in the interest of the socio-economic advancement in Ekiti State.
The Ado Ekiti students Union also deliberated extensively on the current political developments in Ekiti State, particularly within Ado/Irepodun-Ifelodun Federal Constituency, and strongly warned against mobilization of non-indigenes to foment trouble and instigate political unrest in Ado Ekiti.
The FASU National President also encouraged members to sensitize fresh students about the existence and activities of the union in order to strengthen membership and unity across campuses.
The Congress reaffirmed its total support for His Royal Majesty, Oba Dr. Rufus Adeyemo Adejugbe Aladesanmi III, the Ewi of Ado Ekiti, commending his steadfast commitment to the unity, peace, and sustainable development of Ado Ekiti.
The Union emphasized that such actions were inimical to peace, unity, and progress, saying posterity will judge individuals not by what they destroy, but by what they build.
The Union called on all sons and daughters of Ado Ekiti to uphold the dignity of the land by shunning acts capable of tarnishing its image and to accord maximum respect to the traditional institution as the custodian of the people’s heritage.
After exhaustive deliberations, the Congress expressed deep concern over recent security threats on campuses and strongly urged all Ado Ekiti students to refrain from engaging in any unlawful activities capable of tarnishing their reputation and that of Ado Ekiti.
The Congress reaffirmed its commitment to the unity, welfare, and progress of Ado Ekiti students and youths, and called on all stakeholders to continue supporting initiatives that promote peace, development, and collective prosperity.
