……… Sets Agenda On Education, Security And Empowerment

Air Vice Marshal Rufus Ojuawo retired, the Candidate for the Ekiti South Federal House Of Representative Constituency 1, under the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the February 25th, 2023 election in Ekiti State has told his constituents that he is in the race to serve and give them benefits.
The Ise-Ekiti born Federal House of Representative Candidate, Air Vice Marshal Ojuawo made the promise while responding to questions from the Treasure Newspaper reporter recently in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State Capital.
According to Ojuawo, he said, “he is in politics, well prepared and fully ready to better the lots of his constituents, adding that education, security and empowerment would be his major priorities if he is elected at the February 25th poll”.
Speaking further, Ojuawo assured his constituents that his own politics would be targeted to sufficiently serve and provide basic social amenities to them.
He also assured them that he is not in politics to be selfish or accumulate wealth for himself alone like many others have been doing in the past.
He defined his own politics as “the politics to evenly distributes wealth among the masses and not to amass wealth to himself alone”.
Also, the security top notch berated politicians that hoard money in their shelves, safety tanks, soak away, and apartment instead of using such funds to empower the masses, build and develop the Country saying they should emulate foreign countries for development.
While speaking on why he is seeking votes to represent Ekiti South in the Green Chamber, Ojuawo opined to provide robust representation to enact laws that would allow his constituents unhindered access to qualitative education, adequate security of lives, properties and also to empower them to make decent living.
The APC House of Representatives candidate equally promised to establish leadership training in all higher institutions in Ekiti State and beyond to train youths on how they could become good leaders in the Country. He however enjoined Nigeria youths to join hands with the leaders to move the country forward rather than leaving the country in drones for greener pastures abroad.
While speaking on security, Ojuawo admitted that more needs to be done to secure lives and properties of Nigerians. He said “no meaningful development can be achieved where there are security lapses. I will use my wealth of experience as a retired senior military officer to formulate policies and laws that would help civil – military relationship where the masses could move and do their businesses freely without fear”
He stressed further that security agencies should embark on space covering, bush combing and intelligence gathering to frontally combat the bandits.
While speaking on payment of ransom to kidnappers, Air Vice Marshal Ojuawo condemned it in totality. saying, it would strengthen kidnappers to continue in the business. He urged that victims of kidnap should stop paying, saying the kidnappers were in the business to make profit, adding that when no body is patronizing them, they would quit.
Recall, that Ojuawo retired on 10th May, 2019 after serving in different capacities of the military in Nigeria and Foreign countries for thirty seven years without blemish.
He was appointed by former Governor Fayemi on 12th May, 2019 as Technical Adviser on Airport project which started in 2021 and commissioned was in October 2022.
