Aiyedatiwa Emerges Ondo APC Governorship Candidate

… Defeats Akinfolarin, Oke, Others

The incumbent Governor of Ondo State, Honourable Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa has emerged as the Governorship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, ahead of the November 2024 Governorship Election in Ondo State to defeat Mayowa Akinfolarin, Olusola Oke and all others. 

Governor Aiyedatiwa at the end of the Primary Election exercise held on Saturday and concluded on Sunday in Okitipupa local government area scored a total of 48,569 votes while Mayowa Akinfolarin came second with 15,343 and Olusola Oke scoring a total votes of 14,865.

The Governor of Kogi State, Mr Usman Ododo who also doubled as the Chairman of the Election Committee  officially announced the results and declare a winner in the wee hours of Monday morning. 

Meanwhile in the acceptance speech of His Excellency, the incumbent Governor of Ondo State, Honourable Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, shortly after he was declared the winner of the primary election exercise, said, “the internally orchestrated heavy politics in the Ondo APC in search of the flag bearer for the forthcoming gubernatorial election has come to a conclusion today with the emergence of a candidate as declared by the Governorship Primary Election Committee under the chairmanship of His Excellency, Governor Usman Ododo, the Governor of Kogi State.

The Governor however thanked and acknowledged the significant roles of all the guy who threw their hats into the race. 

Governor Aiyedatiwa listed the names of those who threw their hats into the ring in the family contest to be the flag-bearer to includes Hon. Mayowa Akinfolarin, Chief Olusola Oke, SAN, Senator Jimoh Ibrahim, Mr. Wale Akinterinwa, Hon. Isaac D. Kekemeke, Hon. Gbenga Edema, Mr. Ohunyeye Olamide Felix, Hon. Olujimi Odimayo, Mr. Olusoji Ehinlanwo, Morayo Lebi Esq, Prince Diran Iyantan, Prof. Francis Faduyile, Engr. Ifeoluwa Oyedele, Mrs. Funmilayo Waheed Adekojo and Engr. Funke Omogoroye. 

Aiyedatiwa commended them for their participation which helped the party to remove apathy and achieve popular participation.
