Akure Celebrate Promotion Of Two New Colonels

… Counsels To Sustain Tempo

Family, friends and well‑wishers filled the Owena Cantonment Officers’ Mess in Akure on Thursday, 29th October, 2025 with a joyous mood for the investiture ceremony of two Lieutenant Colonels, AY Ardo and MH Gombe were promoted in the Nigerian Army’s latest elevation, moving from Lieutenant Colonel to the rank of Colonel.

Brigadier General Justin Ifeanyi, Commander of 32 Artillery Brigade, set the tone, reminding the fresh colonels the need for them to sustain the tempo,  loyalty, dedication and hard work.

He also praised the officers’ spouses for keeping the home front strong, creating the space for them to excel.

In his vote of thanks, the newly minted Colonel AY Ardo thanked the Chief of Army Staff for finding them worthy, and praising Brigadier General Ifeanyi for his guidance, pledging his unalloyed loyalty and unwavering commitment their new  responsibilities demands. 

The colorful ceremony, held at the Officers’ Mess, was attended by family members, friends and well‑wishers.
