Amotekun Operatives Nab Woman For Child Abuse, Impersonation In Ekiti

The Amotekun Operatives in Efon Alaaye Local Government Command, in Ekiti State have arrested a woman for allegedly hitting her 9-year-old son with a pestle on the head, and another man for impersonating an official of the National Identity Number (NIN) office.

Mrs. Ajenifuja Damilola Clement, 43, a resident of Efon-Ekiti and an indigene of Akure, in Ondo State, was arrested on Saturday, 1st of March, 2025, for hitting her son, Segun, on the head with a pestle. 

According to the Amotekun Operatives, they said the said woman used the pestle as a punishment measure for her son’s wrongdoings.

Upon interrogation, Mrs. Clement confessed to the crime, stating that she hit her son with the pestle as a form of discipline. 

The Amotekun Operatives has however handed the woman in question over to the security personnel at Police Division in Efon-Ekiti for further investigation and necessary action.

Also, in a separate operation, Oladiran Abiodun, 35, a resident of Efon-Ekiti and an indigene of Ibadan, Oyo State, was equally arrested on Thursday, February 27, 2025, for allegedly impersonating a National Identity Number official.

According to the Amotekun Operatives, Abiodun had been posing as an NIN official, collecting large sums of money from victims in Ibadan and Ekiti State under the guise of registering them for their NIN.

The Amotekun Operatives stated that Abiodun’s arrest was a result of a tip-off from a member of the public, who had suspected that Abiodun was involved in fraudulent activities. Abiodun has also been handed over to the Police Division in Efon-Ekiti for further investigation and necessary action.

The Amotekun Operatives has however warned members of the public to be vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the Police authorities. 

They have also assured that they will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that justice is served and that those involved in criminal activities are brought to book.
