Amotekun Operatives Nabs Suspected Armed Bandits In Ekiti

Operatives of the Ekiti State Amotekun Corps have apprehended two suspects armed bandits, Ballah Ibrahim and Nasiru Abubarka, both 50-year-old Hausa men from Sokoto State. The arrest occur on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, during a stop-and-search patrol along Akure Road in Ikere-Ekiti.

The Head of Communications Department for Ekiti State Amotekun Corps, Officer Adeleye Abiodun Adewale speaking through his boss, the Ekiti State Commander for the Amotekun Corps, Brigadier General Ibukun Olu Adewa expressed delight at the efforts of the Amotekun Officers who nabbed the criminals and prevented them from escaping. 

Upon interrogation, the suspects claim they were heading for a hunting expedition in the Eporo area of Emure-Ekiti. However, a search of their belongings yield suspicious items, including three barrels, three hunting dogs, one cutlass, and one axe.

The suspects, along with the recover exhibits, were hand over to the police jurisdiction in Ikere-Ekiti for further investigation and necessary action. This development comes on the heels of Amotekun’s efforts to curb banditry and ensure public afety in Ekiti State.

The Ekiti Amotekun Corps has been working tirelessly to maintain law and order in the state. According to Officer Adeleye Abiodun Adewale, Head of the Corps’ Communications Department, the Corps is committed to protecting the lives and properties of Ekiti residents. The Commander of the Ekiti Amotekun Corps, commends his operatives for their bravery and vigilance.
