Anambra Joint Security Bursts Hideouts Of 3 Notorious Criminal Gangs 

… 2 Arrested As 1 Popular Akada Escape, Declares Wanted

A Joint Anambra State Security Team has on Tuesday bursted the hideouts of 3 notorious criminal gangs in the State as 2 of them arrested while the third person popularly known as Akada who escaped from the scene has since been declared wanted over armed robbery, illegal possession of firearms and enforcements of illegal sit-at-home. 

According to the Police Public Relations Officer for the Anambra State Police Command in Akwa on Tuesday, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, he said, during the Police led anti-sit-at-home joint patrol with the Anambra Vigilante Operatives on the 25th of November, 2024, reportedly bursted a notorious criminal gang of three in Nkwelle – Ezunaka, 3-3 area, by arresting two of the armed suspects and declared the other popularly known as ‘Akada’ wanted over armed robbery, illegal possession of firearm and enforcement of illegal Sit-at-Home. 

The Operatives recovered one English-made pistol and other incriminating items. 

The suspects include one Chinedu Amah and Prince Nwogu all males and residents in Nkwelle – Ezunaka. They were arrested during a hot chase by the Operatives after the victim raised an alarm about how they held him at gunpoint and dispossessed him of his iPhone and other personal belongings. 

They all confessed to the crime and mentioned ‘Akada’ who is currently at large as their gang leader. 

Meanwhile, efforts have already been put in place to track other gang members.
