The Anambra State Police Command has made significant breakthrough in its efforts to fight against cultism and drug trafficking in the state, with the recent arrests of six (6) cultists, illicit drug addicts and recovery of firearm.

Details made available to newsmen by the Anambra Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ikenga Tochukwu, on August 12th, 2025; revealed that the operatives of the Special Anti-Cultism Squad, Enugwu Ukwu, raided a black spot at 7th Mile, Ogidi, Idemili North LGA, and arrested six suspects, including a female.
SP Tochukwu Ikenga in his press release pointed out that suspects identified as Olisaemeka Izuchukwu, Isioma Chisom, Chinonso Izuchukwu, Chinaza Isioma, Onyekwelu Miracle, and Mrs. Chinenye Eloka Okeke, were found in possession of a fabricated Beretta pistol and quantities of illicit drugs, including Mkpuru Mmiri (crystal meth).
The Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, commended the operatives for their swift action and reaffirmed the Command’s resolve to sustain its efforts against cultism, drug trafficking, and other crimes in the state.
The Police CP however pledged that the suspects will be charged to court upon conclusion of investigations.
