The Anambra State Police Command and the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) have strengthened their partnership to combat the distribution of counterfeit, substandard, and unwholesome products in the state.

According to the press statement released by the State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga on the Wednesday; the Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, received the South-East Zonal Director of NAFDAC, Pharmacist Shaba Mohammed, at the State Police Headquarters in Awka.
The meeting was held to chart new strategies for collaboration and enhance public safety in Anambra State.
CP Orutugu assured the Command’s commitment to supporting NAFDAC in enforcing relevant laws and safeguarding public health.
He emphasized that effective policing requires strong partnerships with sister agencies and assured that the Command will provide necessary security support during NAFDAC operations.

Pharmacist Mohammed appreciated the Police Command for its cooperation and pledged continued collaboration to protect lives and ensure the quality of consumable products in Anambra and the South region.
The NAFDAC Director was accompanied by Pharmacist Louis Madubuattah, the NAFDAC State Coordinator for Anambra State, and other senior officials.
