The Police Public Relations Officer for the Anambra State Police Command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga and five others have bagged the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun’s diligence and hardworking award for their outstanding accomplishments and performances as officers of the Nigerian Police Force in the Country.

In a press release signed by the Force Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Police Force, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi at the Police Force Headquarters in Abuja, and made available to newsmen across the Country, earlier on Friday,
Justifying the decision of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, who was represented by the Commissioner of Police in Delta State, CP Olufemi Abaniwonda, and the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, were on ground to honour the Police Public Relations Officer for the Anambra State Police Command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga and five other PPRO’s from the FCT, Bauchi, Delta, Kano and Abia States as well as ASP Julius Robinson, a commander of a tactical team within the Delta State Command, in recognition of their exemplary performance in fulfilling their lawful and expected responsibilities.
SP Tochukwu Ikenga and five other PPRO’s were honoured during the 2024 Conference of Police Public Relations Officers (PPROs) and Communications Experts held in Asaba, Delta State, from 18th November to November 21st, 2024, with a regimental dinner ceremony to signify the end of the annual conference.
The Conference theme titled: “Strengthening The Nigeria Police Force Oversight and Accountability” was organized to equip the PPRO’s with the required expertise for effective communication, police accountability, improved human relations and public trust, was facilitated by resource persons and experts in the Public Relations sector, NGOs, International organizations and experts in other relevant fields.

The Inspector-General while addressing the PPRO’s at the Asaba Conference, explained that the Conference is a milestone achievement towards a more effective policing strategy, thanked the Executive Governor, His Excellency Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori and the good people of Delta State for hosting the event.
The IGP also appreciated the support of the various agencies, international organizations, and individuals, and further re-echoed his call on the general public to embrace the new innovations and ideas of the present Police leadership towards improved oversight, accountability, and quality service delivery for the general socio-economic development of Nigeria.
