APC Sweeps Lagos LG Poll As LASIEC Chair Declares 57 Chairmen, 375 Councillors Winner

The All Progressives Congress, APC, in Lagos State has swept all the 57 local government chairmanship and 375 Councillorship positions at the local government election held on Saturday going by the official declaration made public by the Chairman of the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission, LASIEC, in person of Justice Bola Okikiolu – Ighile retired.

According to the LASIEC Chairman, Justice Bola Okikiolu, while speaking at the headquarters of the State Electoral Commission in Yaba, stated that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) swept all 57 available chairmanship positions and secured 375 out of 376 councillorship seats.

The only exception was a councillorship seat in Yaba Local Council Development Area, which was won by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), marking the party’s sole victory in the entire exercise.

However, Justice Okikiolu-Ighile commended security agencies for their professionalism and swift response during the polls, noting that their presence helped maintain peace and order throughout the election process.
