Bamidele Olumilua University VC Seeks Cooperation Among Higher Institutions In Ekiti

The Vice-Chancellor of Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology, BOUESTI, Ikere-Ekiti, Professor Babatunde Omojola, has sought the cooperation of all Higher Institutions located in Ekiti State, describing it as a critical driver of growth, sustainability and relevance in the university system.

Professor Omojola made the call during courtesy visits to the Vice-Chancellor of Ekiti State University (EKSU), Professor Babatola Ayodele and the Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology and Environmental Science, Iyin-Ekiti (FUTESI), Professor Gbenga Aribisala. 

He stressed that no institution can thrive in isolation, noting that cooperation through shared learning, research and strategic partnerships is essential for sustainable academic development.

The BOUESTI Vice-Chancellor, who assumed office barely a month ago as the second substantive Vice-Chancellor of the University, emphasized the need for synergy among the three institutions in order to actualise the visions of their founding fathers.

Accompanied by other principal officers of BOUESTI, Professor Omojola explained that such collaboration would create opportunities for the exchange of ideas on university development and leadership responsibilities, with the ultimate goal of making a positive impact on their immediate communities.

Discussions during the visits focused on collaboration rather than rivalry as a pathway to achieving long-term institutional stability, academic relevance and meaningful societal impact.

According to Professor Omojola, the visits form part of his broader efforts to reposition tertiary education management in the state, affirming his openness to partnerships, dialogue and mutual growth. 

He also expressed delight that all three Vice-Chancellors, who had contested for the Vice-Chancellorship of EKSU last year, are now leading universities within Ekiti State.

In their responses, the Vice-Chancellor of EKSU, Professor Babatola Ayodele, congratulated Professor Omojola on his appointment and assured that universities in Ekiti State would continue to strive towards producing high-quality manpower to support the actualisation of the developmental programmes of the State Governor.

Similarly, the Vice-Chancellor of FUTESI, Professor Gbenga Aribisala, noted that the success of a university is best measured by the quality of its research, teaching and community service, and expressed support for exchange programmes among the three institutions.
