Ekiti Welcomes 24 Babies On New Year’s Day

Ekiti State public health facilities welcomed 24 newborns on January 1, 2026, with three babies arriving at the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital (EKSUTH), five at secondary hospitals, and 16 at Primary Health Care centres across the state.

According to a realible source, it was revealed to Treasure Newspaper that the first New Year babies deliveries were administered by hospital medical teams fully on ground to ensure safe deliveries.

The first three babies of 2026 were delivered smoothly, though full details including their gender and condition were not yet available at the time of this report.

Primary Health Care centres recorded the highest number of births, highlighting the increasing reliance of residents on accessible local health facilities for maternal care.

The New Year deliveries no doubt is a positive start in 2026, most especially in an attempt to improve maternal and child healthcare services across Ekiti State.
