The Government of Mr. Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji is set to reactivate the mapping and capturing of all the houses and properties in Ekiti State, an idea which was initiated by the immediate past administration of Dr. Kayode Fayemi in the State.

Disclosing this to Treasure Newspaper through an interview on Monday, the Senior Special Assistant, SSA, to Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji on Geographical Information System, GIS, Mr. Bode Ogunyemi, stated that the exercise which is titled, “State-Wide Enterprise Geospatial Infrastructural Project” would involve the mapping, capturing and geo-tagging of all the landed properties in the State.
Ogunyemi, who was stumbled upon by Treasure Newspaper on Monday around Fajuyi area in Ado Ekiti, were seen with the officials in his office moving round the State Capital to collect datas from the house owners and members of the public for the project.
Speaking further, Ogunyemi stated that the purpose of them coming out was to carry out the directives of the Governor of the State, Mr. Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji who wants every available houses and properties in the State to be mapped, geo-tagged with the appropriate attributes data for the ease of budgeting, planning and implementation of projects within the State.
According to the Senior Special Assistant on Geographical Information System, GIS, to Governor Oyebanji, Mr. Bode Ogunyemi, he said, “when we talk of business transactions, it surely depends on the addressing system of the State. Before there could be transactions, there should be a location where such will take place. Also, for the people of the State to know what the government is doing, there is a need for proper addressing system of the entire geographical space of the State”, he declared.
He added that the programme which is currently ongoing at both Ado and Ikere Ekiti local government areas of the State upon completion would be extended to other local government areas of Ekiti State to enable the implementation of projects by the State government to be more effective.
He however advised the entire residents of Ekiti State to cooperate and give accurate data’s to the officials and enumerators going from house to house and from properties to properties for the project to be a huge success in the State.
