The Chairman of the Ekiti South West Local Government Area of Ekiti State, Honourable Sikira Apolola and the Leader of the Legislative Arm in the Local Government Area, Honorable Gbenga Akomolede has been reported fighting publicly thereby attracting the public attention.

Reports reaching the Treasure Newspaper on Tuesday night revealed that both parties engulfed in the public fight were said to have threw caution to the air in the public a situation which resulted to the Local Government Chairman slapping the Councillor.
Speaking with the media on Tuesday night, members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Ilawe Ekiti Ward 2 called on the leadership of the party at the State level to intervene in the crisis and call the Local Government Chairman, Honourable Sikira Apolola to order.
The party loyalist during a peaceful protest to the APC Secretariat in Ado Ekiti in Tuesday alleged that the Local Government Chairman has been at a logger head with his Executives and members of the legislative arm.
The protesters led by the Ward Chairman, Mr Dada Lucas; the Secretary, Mr Samuel Durodola, and others explained that their visit to the Secretariat was to call the attention of the party leadership in the State to the matter before the issue degenerates into more crisis.

According to them, the Chairman recently had issues with the Leader of the Legislative Arm, Honourable Gbenga Akomolede where he allegedly slapped the legislator and assaulted him, a situation they described as uncalled for.
The leadership of APC had now summoned both parties involved for a meeting on Thursday.
