Do Not Frustrate Candidates, Political Parties Seeking Redress In Tribunal – IPAC Warns INEC

The leadership of the Inter-Party Advisory Council, IPAC, in the Country led by its National Chairman, Mr Yusuf Dantalle has warned some officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, who are always fond of frustrating political parties and their candidates from filing election cases in Tribunal in line with the timeframe allowed by the electoral acts and the law.

The IPAC National Chairman, Dantalle made the call on Tuesday in Akure while addressing the members of the body in the State during a one day Stakeholders Engagement towards a peaceful, transparent and all – inclusive election in Ondo State held at the BON Hotel Royal Parklane located at the Ijapo Estate.

According to Dantalle, he said, “it is now a common idea for some officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to always frustrate some political parties and their candidates each time they requests for documents and materials that would help and assist them to file election related cases in court to be denied”. 

Speaking further at the Stakeholders engagement, Dantalle appealed to them to abide to the laid down rules guiding the Country’s democracy, the rights and desires of the people of the State. 

In his own remarks at the engagement, the State Chairman of IPAC, Mr Olaoluwa Adesanya, hailed the decision of the National body in sensitizing members in Ondo State with a view to entrench democracy and promote peaceful co-existence in the State ahead of the Saturday election. 

Present at the engagement includes Chairmen, Secretaries and some Governorship Candidates of the 17 political parties participating in the November 16th, 2024 governorship election in Ondo State.
