Double Celebrations For Igbo Union In Ekiti As They Celebrates Yam Festival, Udiroko Festival With Ado Ekiti People

Yesterday was a double Celebrations for the Igbo Union in Ekiti State as they celebrated there yearly Yam Festival as well as the annual Udiroko Festival with the people of Ado Ekiti and there King, the Ewi of Ado, Oba Rufus Adejugbe.

Speaking with the Treasure Newspaper at his residence in Ado Ekiti on Sunday evening, after the Udiroko Festival held at the Palace of Ewi of Ado Ekiti, the Asiwaju Ndigbo of Ado Ekiti and the leader of all the Igbo – speaking people of Nigeria resident in Ekiti State, Chief Nathaniel Uzomah Taribo, congratulated his people for a successful yearly Yam Festival they concluded on Saturday, 21st August 2022.

According to the Igbo High Chief Nathaniel Uzomah, the Asiwaju Ndigbo of Ado Ekiti, he said, “that the Udiroko festival is cultural in nature and the new yam festival is also cultural in nature. He said the significant of the Yam festival is to continue what their forefathers has laid down and their children will also learn from the festival as a culture in their land”.

Chief Nathaniel went further to state that the people of Ekiti is a peaceful and loving people and extraordinarily caring people. He used the opportunity to encourage the Ndigbo’s people living in Ekiti State to continue to be at peace with there host communities and take  charge of their businesses with the people of Ekiti State.

He equally pleaded with the people to allow God to choose a good leader for them in the next general election. “We cannot afford to make a mistake. I want God to help to us get it right this time. The economy is bleeding and no security in the Country today”.

He advised Nigerians to use the 2023 general elections to vote for the right candidate irrespective of there tribes.

“All we need is good government to transform the Country. When we get it right by electing a good leadership, the leader will checkmate all the insecurities. But when the head is bad, the whole body becomes bad too. What we need to do is to vote for a good leader that has the political will to tackle insecurities in the Country”, he declared.

The Asiwaju Ndigbo also averred that the yearly Udiroko Festival is a unified factor, that has over the years unites every tribe and makes them happy and friendly with one another. He also stated that the popularly Udiroko Festival will always encourage every tribe as one Nigeria.
