Ekiti Amotekun Apprehends Man Accused Of Rape

The Ekiti State Amotekun Corps has recently apprehended a 32 years old man, Oluwatoyin Sunday who was accused of raping one Abimbola Akindele, age 25 who both hailed from  Efon Alaaye, in Ekiti State.

Confirming the rape action through a press release sent to newsmen on Saturday, the Head of Communications Department at the headquarters of the Amotekun Corps in Ekiti State, Officer Adeleye Abiodun Adewale, explained that the arrest was made by the Amotekun Operatives in Efon Local Government Command, after the suspect, Oluwatoyin Sunday was  exposed.

According to Officer Adeleye, he said, “upon interrogations by the Amotekun Officers in Efon Command, after the victim narrated her ordeal, how she was washing clothes outside her rented apartment, when suddenly the suspect arrived and lured her into the room thereby forcefully having carnal knowledge of her. 

Also, the rape victim, Abimbola Akindele revealed several attempts how the alleged rapist, Oluwatoyin Sunday wooed her at the same residence, but failed. 

The suspect, Oluwatoyin Sunday however denied involving in such act.

The suspect has since been handed over to the Police in Efon Alaaye for further investigations.
