The All Progressives Congress, APC, Elders in Ekiti South Senatorial District has hailed the life of Olori Esther Iyalaje Adegboye, mother of Ekiti State Deputy Governor, Chief (Mrs) Monisade Afuye, who passed away on February 18, 2025, at the age of 97.
The APC elders, led by former Deputy Governor, Surveyor Biodun Aluko, described Mrs Adegboye as a respectable community leader and well-cultured individual who left an indelible mark on the people of Ikere Ekiti.
Aluko praised Mrs Adegboye for raising a disciplined and loyal personality like the current Deputy Governor, and commended her for contributing to the development of Ikere kingdom during her lifetime.
The APC elders also used the occasion to endorse Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s re-election bid, assuring that they would mobilize support across the six councils in the district to ensure the governor’s victory.
In her response, Deputy Governor Afuye thanked the APC leaders for their support and solidarity, urging them to sustain their backing for Governor Oyebanji to ensure the delivery of dividends of democracy to the people of Ekiti State.
