Ekiti: APC Integrity Group Carpets Oluyede Over N25m Allegations, Describes It As Baseless, Frivolous

The APC Integrity Group in Ekiti State has carpeted Wole Oluyede Campaign Council over allegations that a sum of N25m was wasted on sponsoring a publication in a media outfit to manipulate the lists of candidates released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), thereby dismissing it as baseless and frivolous.
In a press statement issued on Thursday, April 9, 2026, and signed by its Publicity Secretary, Michael Falodun, the Group described the claim as a reckless fabrication that deserves no serious attention.
According to the group, Oluyede is a political orphan who is not even in any serious race, insisting that his recent outburst is nothing more than a desperate attempt to remain relevant in Ekiti’s political space.
The Caucus went further to portray him as inconsistent and lacking credibility, recalling how he and his followers openly attacked former governor Ayodele Fayose, whom they refused to recognise as leader of the PDP in Ekiti, only to later abandon his own stance and seek validation from Abuja.
“It is on record that the same Oluyede who rejected Fayose’s leadership ran to Abuja to lobby for recognition from Nyesom Wike. He conveniently forgets that Fayose and Wike are politically aligned. Any attempt to secure national backing without local legitimacy is clearly an exercise in futility,” the statement noted.
The APC Integrity group maintained that Oluyede’s latest claims are part of a pattern of media theatrics, describing him as a “serial attention seeker” who thrives on controversy rather than substance.
Reacting to the ₦25 million allegation, the group questioned the logic behind the claim, stressing that the INEC ballot is already a public document available on official notice boards and online platforms.
“Why would anyone spend public funds to suppress a document that is already in the public domain? He is now angry and ranting simply because the APC gave Governor Oyebanji’s candidacy deserved publicity, or does he expect the APC to also publicise his own candidacy?” the statement queried.
The Caucus advised Oluyede to focus on reconciling with aggrieved members of his own camp, particularly those he allegedly sidelined in his political manoeuvres, rather than resorting to what it described as cheap propaganda.
It added that his rejection within the PDP structure in Ekiti and the disaffection among his supporters have already rendered his ambition dead before arrival.
“This ambition is dead on arrival,” the statement concluded, reaffirming that Governor Oyebanji and the APC remain focused on governance and the continued development of Ekiti State, rather than distractions from political jesters.
