Ekiti Executive Council Approves Landmark Projects Worth Billions

The Ekiti State Executive Council, chaired by Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, has approved several far-reaching projects aimed at transforming the state’s economy, education, healthcare, and agriculture sectors.

The Ekiti State Executive Council also approved the State Youth Policy Implementation Plan as well as the implementation plan for the Ekiti State Youth Policy, which outlines a clear pathway for empowering youths through creativity, innovation, and job creation.

According to the press statement released and signed by the Commissioner of Information, Rt. Honourable Taiwo Olatunbosun, he revealed the other key approvals by the State Executive Council to include the Conversion of College of Health Science and Technology, Ijero Ekiti from a Monotechnic to a Polytechnic with a view to provide students with more diverse skills and career options. 

The Council also approved the construction of an Indoor Sports Hall  contract worth a sum of N7.6 billion to engage and empower Ekiti youths through various sporting activities.

On Human Capital Development Strategic Plan, the Council approved the Human Capital Development Strategic Plan Document, designed to strengthen human capital foundation through improved education, healthcare, and social protection.

A contract worth N113.3 million was equally awarded for the procurement of water treatment chemicals and other re-agents to prevent disruptions in water production and improve water quality in the State. 

Regarding Land Clearing for Mechanized Farming, the Council approved whopping sum of N2.2 billion for the clearing of 1,300 hectares of land for mechanized farming, to empower youths in agriculture and boost food production in the State.

Also, a contract to purchase a Customized Working Tools for Youths in Agriculture, which worth a sum of N144.3 million was awarded for the procurement of Japan customized working tools for youths in the Bring Back Youth to Agriculture Initiative.
