The Press Secretary to the Oluwole Oluyede Campaign Council, Mr Idowu Adelusi has described the Tuesday Federal High Court judgement in Ado Ekiti, calling for a fresh primary election in the People’s Democratic Party in Ekiti State as a morale booster for its governorship candidate, Dr Oluwole Oluyede.
Mr Idowu Adelusi in a reaction to the court judgement sent to Treasure Newspaper, assured members of the People’s Democratic Party in Ekiti State that no bump can stop Dr Oluwole Oluyede from winning the June 20, 2026 Governorship Election in Ekiti State.
Adding, Adelusi emphasized that the June 20 2026 governorship election in Ekiti is between the people of the State represented by Dr Wole Oluyede and the incumbent Governor Biodun Oyebanji cum the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the State.
Also, in a similar statement, made public on Tuesday shortly after the said Court judgement, the Director of Media and Communications for the Oluwole Oluyede Campaign Council, Chief Sanya Atofarati, corroborated that, Dr Oluwole Oluyede, the governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party in Ekiti State remains undeterred by the court judgement.

Atofarati who firmly reassured, called on the members, supporters and the good people of Ekiti State not to be discouraged or misled by the judgment delivered on Tuesday by the Federal High Court sitting in Ado-Ekiti, which ordered a reconduct of a fresh governorship primary.
He also described the judgement as a clear sign of a calculated attempt by desperate political interests to distract the PDP, slow down its momentum, and divert attention from the PDP’s growing grassroots campaigns across Ekiti State.
He used the opportunity to appeal to the members, supporters and Oluyede’s sympathizers to remain calm, focused, and resolute, as the development in no way diminishes the strength, legitimacy, or popularity of the PDP’s candidate.

The PDP unequivocally reaffirms the authenticity and legality of the nomination of Dr. Wole Oluyede as the duly elected Governorship Candidate of the party for the forthcoming Ekiti governorship election.
It is settled law, repeatedly affirmed by the Supreme Court of Nigeria, that political parties enjoy exclusive authority over their internal affairs, including the conduct of primaries and nomination of candidates.
In strict compliance with these binding judicial and electoral precedents, the emergence of Dr. Wole Oluyede followed due process and conformed fully with the Constitution of the PDP, the Electoral Act, and all applicable party guidelines.

While we have taken due notice of the Federal High Court judgment, the Campaign Council has already directed its legal team to thoroughly review the decision and promptly seek appropriate legal redress through all lawful means available. Our confidence remains unshaken, as we are convinced of the soundness of our position both in law and in fact.
We therefore strongly caution our members and supporters against falling for the misinformation, propaganda, and psychological warfare being peddled by the ruling APC and its collaborators. These orchestrated conspiracies are nothing more than an open admission of fear—fear of the overwhelming acceptance of Dr. Wole Oluyede and the growing resonance of the PDP’s message of hope, competence, and people-centred governance across Ekiti State.
Let it be clearly stated that the PDP is not distracted, intimidated, or derailed. Our campaign remains firmly on course.

We assure the people of Ekiti State that a PDP government under the leadership of Dr. Wole Oluyede will be inclusive, transparent, and accountable, with a clear commitment to improved healthcare delivery, accessible and affordable education, functional infrastructure, job creation, and sustainable development that leaves no community behind.
We therefore call on all PDP members, supporters, and well-meaning Ekiti citizens to remain steadfast and intensify grassroots mobilisation. No individual must be disenfranchised, intimidated, or discouraged from exercising their constitutional rights. Democracy must be defended through lawful, peaceful, and active participation.
Ironically, the persistent propaganda and mischief of our detractors have only heightened public interest in the PDP and further strengthened the resolve of our candidate, whose campaign continues to gain momentum daily across the state.

The PDP remains united, focused, and fully prepared to rescue Ekiti State for the benefit of present and future generations.
