The Resident Electoral Commissioner for the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in Ekiti State, Dr. Tella Adeniran has been honoured with an Award for his performance in recognition of the successful conduct of the 2022 Ekiti State Governorship Election held in the State.
Presenting the Award to him on Wednesday, the Executive Director for the Centre For Ethics And Self Value Orientation, CESVO, Prince Salih Musa Yakubu stated that, the honour was an Investiture and Conferment of Integrity Icon of Nigeria (IION) coupled with Certificate of Credence to INEC Boss in Ekiti State.
While speaking on the essence of the Award, at the INEC headquarters in Ekiti State, the Executive Director of Centre for Ethics and Self Value Orientation, CESVO, Ethicist (Prince) Salih Musa Yakubu commended the good conduct of the INEC REC for Ekiti State, Dr Adeniran Rahmon Tella and his team for a job welldone during the 2022 governorship election in Ekiti State.
He described CESVO as an organisation whose major function was to dig deep and expose corrupt individuals and organisations at all works of life revealed that they have been watching INEC for the past 16years.
He said, “since our team has been conducting secret assessment on INEC in Ekiti State for the past 16 years, this is the first time we have conviction to honour your office”.
He confirmed that they have one thousand five hundred whistle blowers throughout the country some of whom independently visited INEC in Ekiti state and all the INEC offices across the 16 local government in the state thrice to conduct independent and secret investigation, budget tracking and assessment of the impact of the series of voter education programmes.
Speaking further, he said, the team recommended the REC for tripartite award and honour for his contribution to the service of humanity and dexterity in quality service delivery in the Nigeria democratic space.
The REC was honoured and confered member, Center for Ethics and Self Value Orientation, which implies that the (Hon) REC could now be addressed as Ethicist Dr Adeniran Rahmon Tella (IION). He was also presented with the Certificate of Credence for INEC Ekiti State.
However, in his acceptance speech, the Honourable REC, Dr Adeniran Rahmon Tella (IION) ascribed all the glory to God and disclosed that the success that led to the award was by the grace of God and the effective management and staff of INEC in Ekiti State.
Dr Tella therefore dedicated the award to God and members of staff of INEC in Ekiti State. He appreciated the CESVO for counting him and INEC worthy of the award, and wishes them more successes in their future endeavours.
