The Management Team of the Ekiti State Liaison Office for National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking In Persons, NAPTIP, led by Mr Samson Oladimeji has paid an official visit to the office of the Honourable Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development Mrs. Peju Babafemi, to solicit collaboration and support of her Ministry on NAPTIP’s efforts against human trafficking in Ekiti State.
Mr. Samson Oladimeji expressed the commitment of the Agency to collaborating with the State Government to combat human trafficking in the State.
According to the Ekiti NAPTIP boss, he said, “This year alone some survivors were retrieved from some African Countries such as Libya and Mali.
Responding, the Honourable Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development in Ekiti State, Mrs Peju Babafemi, commended the NAPTIP officials for their efforts and expressed the readiness of the ministry to work with the Agency in its fight against human trafficking.
She added that other stakeholders such as community leaders and civil society organizations should join hands with the government in the fight against human trafficking, adding that victims usually experience physical and sexual abuse.
During the visit, there was the presentation of a book titled: “STOP HUMAN TRAFFICKING” by the Head of the Ekiti State Liaison Office of the NAPTIP to the Commissioner and other officials of the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development
