The National Orientation Agency (NOA), Ekiti State Directorate has congratulated women on the occasion of the 2025 International Women’s Day.
The Acting State Director, Mrs Oluwakemi Akomolede, praised women’s indispensable role in nation-building, describing them as supportive, innovative, hardworking, caring, unique, and lovely.
Akomolede commended women’s resilience and perseverance, as well as their mental ability to manage issues.
She appreciated the achievements of strong women across the globe and Ekiti State, emphasizing the need to continue to celebrate women’s achievements and advocate for gender equality.

This year’s International Women’s Day theme, “For ALL Women and Girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment,” calls for swift and decisive measures to address systemic barriers to accelerating actions for gender parity.
Akomolede urged the women to embrace their power, amplify their voices, and recognize their abilities beyond traditional expectations.
She advised women to break free from societal norms, forge their own paths, and see themselves as change-makers, leaders, and a force to reckon with in the society.

Akomolede also pushed for constitutional provisions of dedicated political positions for women, encouraging women to stand in solidarity with each other to break barriers and achieve a world of equity and equality.
In conclusion, Akomolede urged the women to remain focused and steadfast in reshaping society by inculcating the right values in children and youth to become better citizens.
