… Pleads With Him To Consider An Experienced Media Professional As Commissioner For Information

The Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Ekiti State Council has hailed the Governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji for his overwhelming support for the Union and the Journalists in the State. The Union equally pleads with the Governor to consider an experienced media professional as Commissioner for Information in the State with a view to further enhance the relationship between the government and the people.
The Union in a communique signed and sent to the Treasure Newspaper, after rising from it’s March 2023 Monthly Congress, the State Secretary, Mr. Kayode Babatuyi, appreciated the Governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji for the renovation of the Office of the NUJ Correspondent’s Chapel and for his overwhelming support for NUJ.
The Congress used the opportunity to sympathize with rainstorm and flood victims in Ekiti State, calling on the state government to take necessary action to prevent residents from building on water ways and dumping of refuse in drainages as such factors contributes to flood cases in the state.
The Congress urges residents of Ekiti State to make themselves available for the proposed 2023 national census and cooperate with enumerators for a successful exercise.
The Congress added that the State Government should mandate filling stations and business institutions to allow customer to transact with POS while those who fail to comply should be sanctioned.
While congratulating the newly elected national and state assembly lawmakers, the Congress urges them to collaborate with the State Governor to ensure the development of the state.
The Congress also welcomes the establishment of Customary Court of Appeal as it will enhance quick dispensation of justice and congratulated a member of the Union, Dr. Bola Agbaje over her elevation to the post of the General Manager of Radio Nigeria, Progress FM, Ado Ekiti, thereby wishing her success in the task ahead.
In conclusion, the Congress also commended the Chief Press Secretary to the Ekiti State Governor, Hon. Yinka Oyebode for his display of professionalism and building mutual relationship between the media and the government.
