Ekiti NUJ Issues Disclaimer On Lady Over Social Media Posts ……. Says She Is Not A Journalist

The Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Ekiti State Council has issued a disclaimer on one Abimbola Olajumoke Olawumi, who according to reports has been parading herself as a female journalist in Ekiti State and blackmailing high profile personalities.

The Ekiti State NUJ through a press release disclaiming her, and signed by the Chairman and Secretary, stated emphatically that the said “Abimbola Olajumoke Olawumi is neither a member of NUJ nor that of the female organ of the Union which is NAWOJ”.

The Union maintained further, that the self-acclaimed journalist is not also working nor reporting for any recognized media organization in Ekiti State.

Continuing, the Union revealed, that “Abimbola Olajumoke Olawumi is only known to be a politician who served under the government of Ayodele Fayose and notable for posting opinionated statements on her social media handles, particularly, Facebook which did not in any way qualifies her as a journalist”.

The Union in its disclaimer notice therefore urged the members of the public, security agents, institutions and cooperate bodies to be duly alerted by this statement.
