Ekiti Police Command Parades 8 Criminals For Kidnapping, Murder

A total number of 8 criminals has been arrested and paraded for kidnapping and murder by the Ekiti State Command of the Nigeria Police Force in Ado Ekiti on Thursday.

Addressing the pressmen on Thursday, the Deputy Police Public Relations Officer, DPPRO, of the Ekiti State Police Command, ASP Ayemoni Sunday revealed that, “the arrested criminals were apprehended as kidnappers, murderers, conspirators and armed robbers”. 

According to ASP Ayemoni Sunday, he said, “on 11/11/22, one Ibrahim Babangida alongside other suspects were arrested by the Command operatives at about 11:40hrs during bush combing on the border of Government Reserve forests of Odo-Ado, Ijan-Ekiti, Ise-Ekiti, Emure-Ekiti and Ikere-Ekiti. He told newsmen that on sighting the police, the remaining gang members escaped to different directions. 

Continuing, ASP Ayemoni said, “On interrogation, the suspects has confessed to the kidnapping of one Tiasu Mohammed and Abdullahi Saleh in Odido farm settlement of Ado–Ekiti on 28/10/22 at about 22:00hrs”.

Speaking further, ASP Ayemoni explained that, “on 23/11/2022 at about 15:30 hrs, while the Command operatives were on rescue operation in Ijan- Ekiti forest, they arrested two notorious kidnappers namely; Ojo Jubril ‘m’ a.k.a No Story and Job Matthew ‘m’ a.k.a 77”.

“On interrogation, the arrested suspects confessed that they kidnapped one Adams Segun aged 55 years in his Kajola Farm Settlement at Ijan-Ekiti on 16/11/2022”.

The suspects confessed to various kidnappings in Ekiti State and mentioned one Daniel Matthew, a.k,a Gbegbeleku ‘m’, Busuyi Popoola,a.k.a Adaba ‘m’ and Daniel, second name unknown ‘m’ as their accomplices. They confessed further that they killed one Adams Segun who was kidnapped on 16/11/2022. Exhibits such as one cut small size single barrel gun and expended cartridge were recovered from the arrested suspects. Effort are underway to arrest other fleeing suspects”.

Ayemoni revealed further, that, “on 21/11/22,at about 15 hrs,one Oladele Emmanuel, the Principal of Community Primary School,Irele-Ekiti, alongside one Olajide Idowu , Ajayi Folorunsho and one Ijaodola  were kidnapped by a gang of kidnappers while on transit to along Irele/One-Ako road”.

On receipt of the information, the Command operatives in collaboration with the personnel of the Nigerian Army, Civil Defence Corps and Vigilante group trailed the hoodlums to the forest between Irele and Iyemero-Ekiti, where the operatives had gun duel with the kidnappers, and in the process, the kidnappers were overpowered by the Police Operatives before they were eventually arrested and this led to the rescue of the kidnapped victims and arrest of three suspects.
