EKSU Night Guard Arrested for Theft

A 45 years old man, Samuel Afolabi, who was identified as the Ekiti State University Night guard, have been arrested by the Amotekun Operatives of Ado Local Government Command for allegedly stealing motor spare parts and drinks, including 7 Up and Fanta. 

The arrest was made during a patrol on Saturday, February 8, 2025.

According to Officer Adeleye Abiodun Adewale, the Head of Communications Department, the suspect named Samuel Afolabi confessed to the crime and claimed to be a night guard at Ekiti State University (EKSU). 

He attributed his misfortune to a punctured motorcycle tire, which led to his arrest while fleeing the scene.

The suspect has been handed over to the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of the Ekiti State Police Command for further investigation and prosecution. 

Adeleye described the arrest as part of the ongoing efforts by the Amotekun Corps to curb crime and maintain law and order in the State.
