Eleka Father’s Burial: Activities Kicks Off With Service Of Songs At His Ikere Ekiti Country Home

Activities signalling the kick off of the final burial activities for the late father of Professor Olusola Eleka, the former Deputy Governor of Ekiti State has started with Service of Songs at the residence / country home of the late father, Pa Elder Joshua Olusola Ojo -Eleka who lived from 1932 to 2022 before he died to join his ancestors.

The Service of Songs for the Late Pa Elder Joshua Olusola Ojo – Eleka which took place at his residence located at Ikoyi Estate in Iro Quarters along Ijare road in Ondo State witnessed songs ministrations from different groups, testimonies from the late father’s church member, childhood friends, families and neighbors as well as short exhortation. 

Delivering his short exhortation at the Service of Songs, the Chairman DCC 2 for the Christ Apostolic Church in Ado Ekiti, Pastor Joel Adedeji centred his message on the topic: “The Great Legacy”. While speaking, he asked the audience what legacy they want to leave behind when they eventually died. “If you died today, what will the people around you say”. 

The day that you closed your eye, Heaven will not ask you how many cars or houses you have. He explained that the first legacy they must leave is the legacy of the salvation of their souls. 

He further urged them to think deeply in their hearts while they are still on the earth. He added, that, “If they want to live a meaningful life, that they will need to pursue a life of Christ”. 

He went on to counsel them to be separated aside for God to be used to enable them find a meaningful life in Christ.

“If you died today, asked yourself what people will say about you. A life of Christ is not a life that settles for less. There is nothing in this world to be enjoyed. The beginning of living in Christ and leaving behind a good legacy is to accept the Lord Jesus Christ as your lord and saviour”, he ended. 

Present at the event includes the former Chairman of the Ikere Ekiti local government area, Barrister Ola Alonge; the former Secretary to the Ekiti State Government, Dr. Mrs. Modupe Alade among other members of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in Ekiti State.
