FABOTAS Celebrates 14th Founder’s Day With Free Medical Outreach

FABOTAS College of Health Sciences and Technology, Ado Ekiti has recently celebrated its 14th Founder’s Day by giving back to the community through a free medical outreach program held at the Agric Olope market, a friendly football match and distributions of free customized notebooks to two schools in Ado Ekiti. 

The 14th Founder’s Day of FABOTAS held between the 27 and 29th of February, 2025 was a celebration of God’s faithfulness for the College towards the actualization of its mandate of teaching, research and community impact through an unwavering commitment to its vision, mission, core values and philosophy. 

The outreach program provided free medical check-ups, including blood pressure, blood sugar, and body temperature checks, to traders and artisans at the same market. 

The College’s medical team, comprising of medical Doctors and Students, also offers counseling and health talks to the beneficiaries.

In addition to the medical services, the college also distributed gifts such as toothbrushes and toothpaste to the market traders.

The Executive Director Operations of Fabotas College, Mrs Folake Omotoso while fielding questions from Treasure Newspaper,  expressed appreciation to the market traders for their warm welcome and promised that the College would continue to give back to the community.

The celebration of the 14th Founder’s Day marked a significant milestone of the College, which has achieved numerous accolades in academics and research works.

During the interview, Mrs Folake Omotoso highlighted the College’s achievements, including its excellent results in the professional exams and its commitment to social responsibility. 

She also discussed the college’s future plans, including the expansion of its facilities and the enhancement of its research abilities.

She described FABOTAS College of Health Sciences and Technology in Ado Ekiti as a privately owned institution that has established itself as one of the best colleges in the Southwest region of Nigeria. Its commitment to academic excellence, research, and social responsibility have earned it a reputation as a leading institution in the field of health sciences and technology.

The two-day programme began on Thursday with the Town and Gown Clinic and Dental Medical Outreach at Agric Olope Market, football match between Fabotas Workforce and COPDEM, distribution of customized notebooks, and rounded off with thanksgiving at the College Chapel, Ado Ekiti.

Also, speaking with Treasure Newspaper Crew, in her office shortly after the friendly football match, the Executive Director, Operations, Mrs Folake Omotoso affirmed that, since her assumption of office she has recorded numerous achievements academically, structurally and other areas.

Over one hundred and twenty 120 patients benefited from the free medical outreach and today more than four hundred students 400 benefitted from the customized notebooks to both Emmanuel Anglican Primary School, Okesa and St Paul’s Anglican Primary School, Odo Ado in Ado Ekiti just to mark this year’s anniversary because it’s a thing of joy. 

Throughout the game, both teams demonstrated an incredible level of commitment and determination.

However, the forward man in the FABOTAS team, Innocent popularly known as “Ice”, played two penalties for the team, making the friendly match to end with a 2-2 draw.

Prayer sessions were also done to give thanks and return glory to God Almighty at the main hall of the institution.
