Faseyi Media Alleges Fayose Of Ruling Ekiti With Fake Credentials

The Media Team of Senator Duro Faseyi has accused former Governor Ayo Fayose of ruling Ekiti State for 8 years with questionable academic credentials.

Senator Duro Faseyi Media Team described the reckless and embarrassing statement made by former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, that Senator Faseyi cannot speak English as uncalled for.  

He revealed further, that such statement from Fayose, whose academic background has been a subject of national ridicule, is not only laughable but also exposes Fayose’s desperation and envy.

It is important to remind the public that Senator Duro Faseyi is a distinguished academic and seasoned public servant with impeccable credentials.

He earned his first degree from the prestigious University of Maiduguri in 1989, graduating with an exceptional record, and obtained his Master’s degree in 2000 from the University of Ado-Ekiti, now known as Ekiti State University with an outstanding result. 

Senator Faseyi is also a respected motivational speaker who has delivered lectures and keynote addresses at major events both in Nigeria and abroad. His eloquence, command of the English language, and intellectual depth are not in doubt.

Between 2003 and 2011, Duro Faseyi served in the House of Representatives where his excellent performance earned him the chairmanship of important committees, first as Chairman, House Committee on Water Resources (2003–2007), and then as Chairman, House Committee on Environment and Ecology (2007–2011). From 2015 to 2019, he served in the Nigerian Senate where he chaired the Senate Committee on Air Force and was a member of several other vital committees.These are not responsibilities given to a man who lacks the ability to communicate or lead.

On the other hand, Fayose remains a man battling with the ghosts of his academic past. The 2003 “KARIMU JE” scandal exposed the questionable nature of his Polytechnic Ibadan certificate. 

He was accused of forging his HND certificate and to this day, he has failed to convincingly prove its authenticity. If not for the political protection he enjoyed from the Federal Government at that time, Fayose would likely have faced criminal charges and been jailed. It is still widely believed that he never completed the requirements for the HND and the certificate he parades cannot be verified.

We question the state of mind in which Fayose made his recent comments. Was he under the influence of hard drugs, as many have repeatedly accused him of being during and after his tenure as governor? It is completely irresponsible for a man with a deeply stained academic record to insult a proven intellectual like Senator Faseyi.

Fayose should present his original certificates to the public if he has nothing to hide. 

He should tell Nigerians the truth about whose HND certificate he used to run for governor. The era of propaganda and intimidation is gone. If he continues this line of insult, we shall not hesitate to take  it up against him

Ekiti is known as the Fountain of Knowledge. We cannot allow someone like Fayose, who has brought national embarrassment to our state, to continue to tarnish the image of credible leaders like Senator Duro Faseyi. Fayose should bury his head in shame and stop insulting men whose achievements and qualifications he cannot match.
