Fayemi’s Government Set To Erect Gate House At State Secretariat In Ado Ekiti

Exactly 21 days (three weeks) to the end of the second term administration of Dr. John Kayode Fayemi, the Executive Governor of Ekiti State, all arrangements to erect and construct a gate house at the entrance of the State Secretariat which is housing offices for all the Ministries, Departments, Agencies, Boards and Parastatals in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State is set to be done and put in place. 

Communicating the above information to the Civil Servants in Ekiti State as well as the general public, through a circular issued on Thursday, the 22nd of September, 2022; with reference number EDI/EXT/32/118 and signed by one Mr. B.A. Ariyo from the Office of Establishments and Service Matters on behalf of the Head of Service of Ekiti State, Mr. Bamidele Olugbenga Agbede alerted the civil servants and regular visitors to the State Secretariat in Ekiti State of the decision.  

According to the Head of Service of Ekiti State, Mr. Bamidele Olugbenga Agbede, he stated that, “as part of the efforts of the Government to ensure the security of its workforce, improve their productivity and enhance service delivery, that the Government has commenced the erection of a gate house at the entrance of the State Secretariat located by the Ekiti State Civil Service Commission Building”. 

He revealed that the construction of the gate house is to check and control thorough fare of both pedestrians and vehicle users to and from the State Secretariat

In view of the above, he added that, the access road to the State Secretariat through the Civil Service Commission building will be closed temporarily to vehicular movement from Monday, 26th September 2022. 

He however advised, that, by the circular, public servants and visitors to the Secretariat are advised to use the other two available routes located by the State House of Assembly and the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning pending the completion of the gate house work. 

The Head of Service equally used the opportunity to appeal to all Public Servants and visitors for their cooperation and understanding of the inconveniences the temporary change of the route to State Secretariat might have caused.
