The Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress, Ikoro-Ekiti that was designated as the venue of the Party’s Governorship Primary election on Thursday, 27th January, 2022 remained under lock and key throughout the day of the election.

At the venue, Party members who were supposed to cast their votes waited in vain from 8 O’clock in the morning till 6:00 pm without INEC officials, Party officials, Security agents and election materials in sight at the venue to suggest readiness for the election.

Alas! Later in the day, what followed? Biodun Oyebanji’s name was announced as the winner of the Primary election that was never held in Kayode Ojo’s Ward even though, Kayode Ojo met all the prescribed guidelines and duly contested the election.

Ekiti people, what happened in 2022 is now history! Dr. Kayode Fayemi as a sitting Governor then in 2022 who manipulated the election to favour Oyebanji, his anointed candidate and subsequently forced him on Ekiti people as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress and later the Governor, has lost relevance in Ekiti State politics.

Today in Ekiti State, what we see as the outcome of Kayode Fayemi’s manipulation of the Governorship election in 2022 is under performance and failure.

Now that another Primary election of the APC in Ekiti State is beckoning, the people must not allow another manipulation of their wish by expired politicians in the State who are still  assuming the position of Kingmakers to have their dubious ways.

Ekiti people, shine your eyes! Once beaten, twice shy!
