Governor Biodun Oyebanji, with your Statewide address to the people of Ekiti State in the morning of Tuesday, you no doubt amused me and many Ekiti people.

If one may ask, from which side of your bed did you wake up before reading the address that was earlier delivered to your table?
The tone of your address betrayed the contents of your previous addresses to officials of the State government and members of the All Progressives Congress who are your appointees each time you assembled them for a discussion in Ekiti State.
Before settling for the address, did you take time out to consider your past threats and the incitement of your loyalists against any other member of the APC who dares to contest in the forthcoming governorship election with you in the State?
Going by your scary reactions in the last few weeks since the date of the Primary for the governorship election was scheduled by the nation’s electoral umpire, you have been talking and making the people to believe that Ekiti State is your registered company under the Corporate Affairs Commission, where you employ those working with you, paying their monthly salaries in exchange for their labour power which they are investing for the growth of the company.

Interestingly, Mr. GOVERNOR, each time you talk, you always threaten with fire and brick stone to tell the people that you will not settle for anything less than you being alone in the governorship race, on the false belief that the questionable endorsement by those feeding from our common patrimony has conferred on you, all that you need to continue in office till 2030.
Between you and your God, can you ever deny ever using the State apparatus to intimidate, harass and arrest those members of your Party, you presumed to be loyal to another person other than you in the APC each time they gather at various locations across the State to hold their meetings?
As you’re watched invading a domain where your credential is not in tandem with your claim on the secretaryship of the creation of Ekiti State, I feel there’s the need to put the record of your claim as the Secretary of the Committee on the creation of Ekiti State in prosper perspective for the people to see.

From available record, the Secretary for the Committee for the creation of Ekiti State was Dr. Dare Teniola and the Chairman was Chief Deji Fasuan. As the assignment was moving to an end, Dr. Teniola needed to migrate to the United States to join his family.
It was then decided that you, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji who was the Assistant Secretary was asked to serve as an Acting Secretary for the balance of time remaining for the conclusion of the assignment.
It is therefore deceitful and dishonest to be claiming that you were the Secretary for the Committee without the decency to acknowledge Dr. Teniola. Honesty, we are told is the best policy.

Therefore, anyone who cannot be truthful in a small thing will be dishonest in big things as Ekiti State has witnessed in the last three years of deceitful governance.
Imagine, a couple of weeks ago, you publicly addressed a group of your appointees and ordered them including Chairmen of Local Government Councils not to allow any other aspirant to their Offices who may want to visit them for whatever purpose. Do we call this democracy or authoritarianism?
Mr. GOVERNOR, rather than you pleading with Ekiti people and other politicians in the State to give peace a chance at this critical period, I believe it is you that should see peace as the only option and the direct route for the development of Ekiti State.

When you embrace peace, take freedom of choice as a virtue and see others signifying their intentions to compete with you in the governorship race, desired development of Ekiti State will be achieved and there will be forward movement.
Once again, kindly note that the sky is large enough for the birds to fly without their wings touching each other. EKITI, WAKE UP AND RECEIVE YOUR PEACE!
