A Nigeria based local content company in the oil and gas sector, the Green Energy International Limited has bagged the 2025 Leadership Newspaper award.

According to the management of the Leadership Newspaper, the Green Energy International Limited earned the award due to its remarkable performance in the building of the first Indigenous Onshore Crude Oil Terminal in Nigeria situated at Otakikpo in Andoni local government area of Rivers State.
Equally, the management of the Leadership Newspaper acknowledged the outstanding efforts of the Green Energy International Limited in unlocking the huge oil and gas potentials in the Niger Delta through the Onshore terminal which now allows stranded oil fields to have evacuation opportunities.
The company was also acknowledged as the first Nigerian indigenous company to build the terminal after 50 years of relying on the ones constructed by multinationals.
Accepting the award on behalf of the Board, the Management and staff of Green Energy International Ltd, the Director of Legal and Corporate Services of the Company, Barrister Olusegun Ilori thanked the Leadership Newspapers for considering the company worthy of this award.

In his words, “It is gratifying to know that we are being honoured for what we considered a patriotic duty to unlock the potentials of our nation to build the first Indigenous onshore crude oil terminal in 50 years of oil and gas exploration in the Country.
“When we looked closely at Nigeria’s crude oil and energy supply chain, we saw the need for access to other oil & gas companies operating stranded fields for evacuation and export.
Ilori described the Green Energy mission as one targeted at unlocking its potential and provide a lifeline to any stranded oil fields while also ensuring evacuation for there own field”.

“Little did we know that reputable newspapers like Leadership and their readers were monitoring our efforts and would one day appreciate its contributions”, the Director of Legal and Corporate Services said.
Ilori also used the opportunity to appreciate the regulators who also supported the Green Energy to actualize it’s goals.
He also commended the administrative dexterity of the Chairman of Green Energy International Limited, Pastor (Prof) Anthony Adegbulugbe and his team which he said has been the motivation for the various degrees of achievements recorded by the organisation.
