Gunmen Attacks Ipele Owo, Set Police Station Ablaze

Some unknown gunmen have attacked a Church and police station in Ipele community, Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State on the night of the last day in December, 2025 at about 10:00 pm. 

The incident occurred a few minutes before the New Year celebrations, throwing the community into tension.

 It was gathered that the assailants also set the police station ablaze before fleeing the scene.

Confirming the development, the spokesperson for the Ondo State Police Command, Abayomi Jimoh, said details of the incident were still sketchy as investigations were ongoing.

The Command also debunked reports circulating on social media that a religious centre was attacked, stressing that no place of worship was involved in the incident.
