Engineer Augustine Oluwatoyin Ojo, the Executive Chairman of Ado Central Local Council Development Area, LCDA, has pledged to set new records for the collection of the Internally Generated Revenue, IGR, in Ekiti State, with a vow that he will never stop the good work he started in his first tenure in office.
The Ado Ekiti Central LCDA Chairman, Hon. Oluwatoyin Ojo made the above statement while answering questions from the Treasure Newspaper reporter at his Omisanjana area in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State Capital on Thursday.
He equally pledged to deliver on the mandate given to him by the Governor to generate more revenue for the LCDA and the State.
Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji during the inauguration of the newly elected local council chairmen had charged the Chairmen to ensure that they work hard to improve their IGR and the Security in the State. He added that the Chairmen will be judged based on their performance in the above two areas.

Engineer Augustine Oluwatoyin Ojo, said his goal is to raise the bar in terms of revenue generation. “I want to raise the bar from last year, when we generated N5 million. This year 2024, we will ensure we generate about N16 million so that, we will be able to raise the bar so that whosoever comes after me, will continue from where I stopped because without such, one will not be able to do anything” the LCDA Chairman revealed.
Speaking on his second term re-election, the Chairman said, “I am very happy because I think this is the first time in the history of Ado-Ekiti that the local government Chairman will be elected twice. This is the first time it will happen”, he emphasized.
“I am elated to be one of those people to be elected twice in the history of this State. He went to appeal further to his people to give him the support and the corporation that they have always given him to enable him do more for them.
“He also assured that his people have not seen anything because he is yet to start. By the time I will be leaving office at the Ado Central Local Government will be known for greatness.

When he was queried on whether he had any other agenda on his plan, apart from the revenue generation, he said, “I have been known for development in terms of providing water, electricity and road construction in the LGA”.
He appreciated his people for their support towards him even though he did not had it in mind to re-contest.
He however ascribed his re-election as Chairman to the agitations of his people who worked hard to ensure he was re-elected.
