IPAC Ekiti Denounces Disruption Attempt, Confirms Election Proceeds As Planned

The State Chairman of Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) Ekiti, Owoola Daramola, has denounced a letter circulating, claiming he has been suspended and seeking to disrupt the forthcoming Ekiti IPAC Election scheduled for 16th March, 2026.

In a statement signed by Accord Party Chairman, Adeniji Akinropo Phillips, Daramola described the letter as false, misleading, and not representative of IPAC Ekiti’s position. He noted that the procedure for suspension of officers as spelt out in the IPAC constitution was not followed, rendering the claims null and void.

“The majority of the signatories to the letter are not recognized members of IPAC and are not known to INEC or IPAC Ekiti,” the statement read.

The matter has been reported to security agencies (DSS and NPF, Ekiti State), who are taking necessary steps to ensure the election proceeds peacefully at the designated polling booth.

The statement further noted that “the council wishes to debunk the ludicrous and self-driven information making the rounds about Ekiti IPAC”.

This was disclosed following an emergency meeting held today at the IPAC secretariat at exactly 10am, attended by representatives of Accord, ADP, AA, AAC, APP, NNPP, SDP, Labour, PDP, YP, and Booth.

The election is proceeding as planned, and members are urged to participate peacefully. Concerns or issues should be directed to the Election Committee or IPAC leadership.

“We will not be deterred by attempts to disrupt our democratic process,” the statement quoted Daramola as saying.
