Irepodun/Ifelodun APC Leaders Endorse Senator Bamidele, Rep Fatoba For Re-Election

Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government Area of Ekiti State have unanimously endorsed the Senate Leader, Senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele (MOB), and Hon. Sola Fatoba to stand for re-election in the forthcoming National Assembly race.
The endorsement was the highlight of a strategic stakeholders’ meeting held on Sunday, April 5, 2026, at the residence of the Local Government Party Chairman, Pa Ope Ogundele.
The well-attended meeting brought together key party stakeholders, including the Local Government Party Chairman, Pa Ogundele; his deputy; the Southwest Zonal Secretary, Hon. Femi Aluko; the APC State Women Leader, Chief (Mrs.) Caroline Egunjobi; the eleven Ward Chairmen and their Secretaries; as well as party leaders and stakeholders from across the council area.
Also in attendance were prominent figures including the Ekiti State Commissioner for Information, Rt. Hon. Taiwo Olatunbosun; the Chairman of Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government, Hon. Gbenga Oluwatuyi; the Chairman of IFEDARA LCDA, Hon. Lawrence Ogunsanya; and the Chairman of Araromi LCDA, Chief Adewale Alade, alongside other political appointees and key party figures.
Notably, one of the lawmakers representing the constituency, Hon. Femi Akindele, sent his apologies for his absence. Similarly, the Honourable Commissioner for Works, Hon. Sola Adebayo, and Hon. Wole Ajakaiye also conveyed their apologies for not being able to attend the meeting.
In a communiqué issued at the end of the meeting, the stakeholders expressed unwavering confidence in the leadership capacity, legislative experience, and performance record of Senator Bamidele, describing his representation at the National Assembly as impactful and exemplary. They also commended Hon. Sola Fatoba for his strong grassroots connection, competence, and demonstrated readiness to provide effective representation at the House of Representatives.
The leaders noted that the decision to adopt both candidates followed extensive consultations and a broad-based consensus across all wards in the local government, reflecting the collective will and aspirations of party members.
They called on all APC members, supporters, and the electorate within the constituency to unite behind the adopted candidates in order to secure a decisive victory for the party in the forthcoming elections.
The forum further urged members to intensify ongoing grassroots mobilization by sustaining house-to-house campaigns across all communities, as part of efforts to ensure total victory for Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji (BAO) in the forthcoming election.
The stakeholders also reaffirmed their unalloyed support for the re-election of Governor Oyebanji, citing his administration’s developmental strides and people-oriented policies across Ekiti State.
The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment to party unity, discipline, and coordinated efforts toward ensuring the continued electoral success of the APC at all levels.
